So many of you offered kind words about the chalkboards I shared, and were curious to see more. I decided I should share each week's, with a little update! I will continue to do this weekly now, so check back :)
**Side note: Many of you asked what I used to make these. I actually just used plain old Crayola colored chalk. I wiped down the chalkboard with a damp cloth before, and with it still a little damp I would start to draw. I found this gave the chalk a more vivid hue. I also used q-tips to clean up any smudges.
We found out we were pregnant on President's Day this year, and were OVERJOYED! It was a long time coming, and I'm sure many of you can relate to the stress of all of that. We told all of our family and friends around Easter, and everyone couldn't be more excited!
By week 15, I was definitely ready for the
morning sickness all day nausea (who the heck named it!) to go away! A half a plain bagel (with nothing on it) was all I could stomach for breakfast and lunch, and maybe some Cheeze-its for dinner. Preggie pops were my BEST friend to get through those rough days of teaching.
It was around this time that I told my students we were expecting, and they were ADORABLE! That first day they asked a teacher to stay in with them and decorated my whole room with handmade baby decorations, complete with a poster chart of boy and girl names! Definitely saved for my scrapbook :)
Baby was the size of an avocado, but momma couldn't stomach it! My once favorite food no longer has the same wonderful taste to me :(. However, it was about this time that other foods FINALLY starting sounding good, and I could eat things other than bagels and Cheeze-its! :)
My first "pre-Mother's Day" was amazing! My husband made a shadow box of our ultrasounds and pictures of our chalkboards so far. He even went to the craft store and got little baby scrapbook things to decorate it. He's pretty amazing :)
Feeling the baby move for the first time was indescribably amazing! I was on my way to meet up with some amazing blogger friends and I felt that first definite kick. Now baby is moving CONSTANTLY! :)
Week 18 was also the last week of school, so it was an exhausting one! I thought I was a tired teacher the last week before, but man it's even harder when you're pregnant! Sleep was my best friend this week. And looking forward to the beach! :)
Week 19 was spent AT the beach! It was a beautiful vacation with my husband and in-laws. We spent lots of time laying on the beach in the sunshine, exploring fun restaurants, putt-putting, and playing all sorts of games. Baby was the size of a mango, so what a perfect place for a photo shoot in place of our chalkboard! :)
I am currently in week 20 (although I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow) and this bump is certainly starting to show! This entire week has been spent coaching volleyball from 9am-7pm. We have coaching days with our high schoolers, grades 4-7 youth camp, and an 8th grade mini clinic, so this preggo momma is TIRED after the long days on my feet. Luckily I have an amazing husband who lets me take lots of naps, makes dinner and breakfast, and lets me sleep in! :)
I'll be back next week with another update! Thanks again for all of your love and support. :)
